Aimee Mahjouri is the owner of Mindful Pathways, LLC. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the state of Florida. Completing her undergraduate education at California State University Sacramento, Aimee earned a degree in both Psychology and Sociology. Aimee further pursued her graduate education at University of Central Florida by completing a degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, while also fulfilling the requirements needed to seek licensure as a Mental Health Counselor.

Prior to finishing graduate school, Aimee found her passion for helping others working as a mental health technician with a variety of populations such as individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, personality disorders, substance abuse issues, and eating disorders. As a therapist, Aimee has found her niche working with individuals who have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. Highly passionate about BPD, she strives to advocate for the condition and help to reduce stigmas by educating clients, their loved ones, and the general population. In addition, Aimee has treated other personality disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, LGBT issues, anger management, adjustment disorders, cultural concerns, systemic issues, and couples. She enjoys working with adult individuals and incorporating a systemic approach.

Aimee is a firm believer in the power of compassion, empathy, and empowerment. As a therapist, she believes that we are the experts of our own lives. Viewing her role within the room as one that entails wearing many hats, Aimee advocates for the individual’s definition of recovery – directing them as needed to uncover what that picture looks like. Aimee seeks to instill hope and foster confidence within the self the client wishes to be. She ultimately believes in the power of hidden potential as well as the journey to witness it unfold.

We think we listen but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening of this very special kind is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.
